President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Asiwaju Bisi Adegbuyi as Post-Master General/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Postal Services (NIPOST).

This is contained in a statement issued by the director media, Bolaji Adebiyi in the office of the Secretary to the government of the federation.

Adegbuyi was the Deputy Director-General of Governor Ibikunle Amosun Campaign Organisation in the 2015 elections.

The appointment is coming 11 months after the former PMG proceeded on retirement. The former PMG, Mallam Ibrahim Mori Baba, retired and handed over to the deputy postmaster general (engineering and technical) Architect Enoch Ade Ogun, who is the most senior official in the postal agency.

However, as a result of the fallout of the rift between the Minister of Communications,
Adebayo Shittu, and the Nigerian Postal Service over the collection of stamp duty in March, the Federal Government sacked the acting Postmaster General of the Federation, Mr. Enoch Ogun.
