Last weekend, precisely on Sunday, May 29, 2016, billionaire oil magnate and Super Big Boy, Prince Dapo Abiodun celebrated his 56th birthday at an impressive ceremony.

Abiodun, the Chairman of Hyden Oil, was a Senatorial candidate during the last general election. He is one of the most formidable businessmen in Nigeria. Abiodun is widely admired and regarded for his humane disposition and exploits in industry and philanthropy.

This duly earned him the national honour- Member of the Niger, MON by the Federal Government of Nigeria and interminable accolades from his peers and even his business rivals.

Predictably, his birthday party was graced by many notable dignitaries, drawn from the
corporate, political and social circles in Nigeria.

The party was held at his Temple Road, Ikoyi, residence. Although it was planned to be a low-keyed celebration, things gathered pace and assumed greater dimension as the celebrant’s home began began to be filled with almost everyone who mattered in Nigeria’s high society. Friends and foes alike, (except of course, Senator Buruji Kashamu), stormed his new mansion that day and had undiluted fun.

There is no doubting the fact, that Dapo Abiodun’s celebrity-studded birthday party, was reminiscent of 40th birthday of Terry ‘Versace’ Waya, which took place in London in 2001.
Waya’s birthday drew a heavy presence of some part-loving governors, who subsequently earned the infamous sobriquet, The Owambe Governors.
